Abstract

80 cavities were prepared and restored on labial surfaces of extracted anteriors or buccal and lingual surfaces of premolars to evaluate the effects of cavosurface design, surface glazing and the location of cavosurface margin upon the marginal leakage of conventional and visible lignt-cured class 5 composite resin restorationE.
The results were as follows:
1 . Cavosurface bevel was effective to reduce the marginal leakage of the restorations.
2. In beveled group, there was difference in occurance of marginal leakage between two types of composite resins.
3. Surface glazing was not effective to reduce the marginal leakage.
4. Most of the cases, marginal leakages were occured through cervical dentinal margins.
